The IF Project

Anthony Julius has written extensively on law, literature, art and culture. He is a litigation lawyer at Mishcon De Reya and visiting professor at Birkbeck College, University of London.

The IF Project is a ‘free university’: an initiative in alternative higher education where the courses are free, lecturers donate time and expertise, and the syllabus includes taking in free cultural events happening in London. It is a community of those who want to teach and those who want to learn for the love of doing so.

This lecture is part of IF’s programme of public lectures, open to all.

IF also runs short courses in arts and humanities subjects at undergraduate level. The 2015 IF Humanities Summer School is happening across June.

The IF project believes that a higher education in the humanities is an education worth having, and one that should be accessible to all.
