A talk by Geraldine Cox, artist in residence at Imperial College London. Geraldine has two degrees in physics and fine art and her project “Finding Patterns” is about finding new ways to talk about what we know and the experience of discovery.

Inspired by a 1964 lecture by physicist Richard Feynman, I’ll begin with a sketch of Nature’s hierarchy and contemplate the ways things interact to become wholly different things. I’ll consider how we investigate the hierarchy with science and mathematical models. The myriad perspectives needed to understand the simplest thing will be my closing focus. I’d love to gather your perspectives on some key questions.
